I became pre-hypertensive and getting to the point of being pre-diabetic. I was using a sleep mask because I had sleep apnea. I finally decided to join the local CrossFit gym. I was nervous, intimidated, and frankly wanted to quit. I had become disgusted at myself for ever getting to the point where air squats winded me. I knew that I had to stick with it because the other options were not something I could afford or wanted to deal with. I stuck with it. I made friends at the gym that would always support me, whether it was running with me or just finishing the workout with me. I started to get that feeling I had when I played sports but so much more. I started to see how this was changing my life.
Motivation & Passion
Knowing that there were others in the same boat as me, I had to share what I went through. I fell in love with the methodology, the culture and what CrossFit was doing in everyday people's lives. I know I am not the picture perfect chiseled abs coach, but we are all on a journey. My motivation is not and has never been aesthetics. It has always been to be greater than what you can think for yourself. I believe people have the power to change themselves, they just need belief. I had people who believed in me and now its my turn to return the favor to anyone who is willing to walk through our doors.
